Privacy, field by field
Your usage stays on your Mac. Provider connections, app updates and license activation have their own network requests, listed below.
The app
UsagePool keeps the configuration needed to show your current limits. It does not collect a usage-history archive or app telemetry.
| Field | Stored? | Leaves this Mac? | Detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preferences and provider configuration | Yeson this Mac | No | Appearance, selected providers, widget choices, latest validated meter metadata and connection settings stay on this Mac. |
| Current usage and quota projections | Yeslatest helper projection where needed | Nonot sent to UsagePool | Provider reports are read locally or requested from the provider. Current values are held in memory; necessary helper configuration and the latest quota projection may be kept locally. UsagePool does not accumulate a usage archive. |
| Notification bookkeeping | Yeson this Mac | No | Minimal local state prevents repeated notices for the same limit window. Notifications are available only on paid plans. |
| Provider credentials | Nono separate UsagePool credential copy | Yesto the relevant provider when required | UsagePool uses the existing sign-in through the supported provider tool. Credentials needed for an authenticated request are sent only to that provider, not to UsagePool’s licensing service. |
| License | YesKeychain | Yesactivation and recovery requests | A signed entitlement is saved in Keychain and verified offline. Activation sends your code or token to the licensing service. Purchase recovery sends the email address you enter. |
| Updates | Yesupdater settings | Yesupdate requests | Automatic checks and manual Check for Updates contact the update service. The updater guides you through installation when an update is available. General settings controls automatic checks. |
| App analytics and telemetry | No | No | The app does not send analytics events or usage measurements to UsagePool. |

Payment and license records.
Stripe handles payment details on its hosted checkout. The licensing service retains purchase and license records needed for activation, upgrades, refunds and recovery. Recovery uses the purchase email address. These functions do not receive your provider usage.
The site saves your chosen light or dark theme in your browser. Hosting and payment providers also receive the network information needed to serve their requests.
