UsagePool Download

Release notes

1.0.8 Latest

1.0.8 is out! Two small ones that came straight from folks using it.

  • Remove a widget from its menu: click any widget and there's now "Remove This Claude Widget" (or whichever provider it is), and "Remove This All-Provider Widget" on the UsagePool icon. Handy when a full menu bar or the camera notch only leaves room for one or two, so you don't have to dig through Settings
  • Check Now always gets you the newest version: if UsagePool had already downloaded an update and was waiting for a quiet moment to install it, Check Now used to do nothing, or offer that waiting update even when a newer one was out. Now it installs the waiting one right away, and if something newer is out, it checks again as soon as it restarts and offers that one too

If you're on 1.0.6 or 1.0.7, this one should install itself the next time you step away from your Mac for a few minutes.

1.0.7

1.0.7 is out! It's mostly about catching the spots where UsagePool looked broken when it really wasn't.

  • Cursor Teams: on a team plan you now see your own on-demand spend this cycle, which Cursor's team dashboard doesn't even show you, measured against your per-person cap if your team sets one
  • Claude: no more "!" for up to an hour after your session and weekly limits reset at the same time
  • Muse Code & GitHub Copilot: when you're signed out, UsagePool says so and gives you a Sign In button (including Muse Code 1.4's new login screen), and if they show something unexpected, one click opens them in Terminal so you can see what they need
  • Copilot: a quota you've used up now reads 100% and keeps its Additional Usage line instead of vanishing, and a dropped VPN or network doesn't look like a sign-out anymore
  • Muse Code: a locked macOS Keychain doesn't look like a sign-out anymore either
  • Licenses: upgrading from Single to Full now stays Full after an update

Heads up: UsagePool works best with personal plans right now (Settings → Providers now says so too). Some work and team accounts read fine already, but setups like Claude Code through Amazon Bedrock or a team's pooled credits don't yet, and that's what we're working on next. If yours doesn't read right, tell us in #help, it helps us get it right first.

1.0.6

  • UsagePool now finds your AI tools however you installed them (npm, nvm, Volta, Homebrew, MacPorts or the tool's own installer), so if a tool works in your Terminal, UsagePool can read it. That includes a GitHub Copilot CLI that signs in through GitHub CLI.
  • Updates now arrive within the hour, download in the background, and install while you're away from your Mac, with no window in the way.
  • With the All-Provider Menu Bar Widget on, any provider can show its limits on that widget's card without a widget of its own.

1.0.5

1.0.5 is out! Mostly for anyone short on menu bar space.

  • All-Provider Menu Bar Widget: one UsagePool icon in your menu bar, and hovering it shows every active provider's limits at once. It's on by default and works alone or next to a few widgets you care about most. Turn it off in Settings → General
  • Installing: the download now opens a window that shows you to drag UsagePool into Applications, and if you ever open it straight from that window it offers to move itself there, where it can update

1.0.4

1.0.4 is out!

  • Cursor on-demand: set a fixed cap and it becomes a gauge you can put on the card and in the menu bar like any other limit. Uncapped, the card just shows the amount
  • Claude: the money lines now use Claude's own words, Usage Credits and Monthly Spend
  • Cursor: the bonus usage line is gone, since Cursor's own dashboard doesn't show it
  • Cards: a limit with no reset to count down to no longer leaves a blank band under it
  • Licenses: a Full license no longer shows an Activate button

1.0.3

1.0.3 is out!

  • Money on the cards: each card now shows the money behind your limits under the meters: Cursor's on-demand usage against your cap (or just the amount when it's unlimited) and any free bonus usage, Codex's credit balance, GitHub Copilot's additional usage, and Claude's credit balance and extra usage. Anything you've switched off stays off
  • Missing widgets: if a widget you turned on doesn't show up, Settings now explains why: macOS hides menu bar icons that don't fit, which on a MacBook means anything behind the camera notch

1.0.2

1.0.2 is out!

  • License codes: typing or pasting a code into Settings → General → Activate… works now. Before, only the button in the license email did
  • No more Documents prompt: macOS doesn't ask whether UsagePool can access your Documents folder anymore, since the provider tools it runs now run without access to Desktop, Documents and Downloads
  • Customizer: the shape tiles show your chosen colors again

1.0.1

1.0.1 is out! Cleaning up the first run.

  • Paste: pasting a license code works now. Cmd-V and the other Edit shortcuts did nothing before
  • Welcome card: a new install opens on a card that says what to do next, with an Enter License Code… button if you've already bought, and the free plan reads "Free plan · no license activated" instead of a bare "Free"
  • Activation: opening the link in your license email now shows a "License activated" card instead of an empty code sheet
  • Antigravity: reads its quota again when its status line isn't connected
  • Light mode: secondary text is easier to read
  • Download: the website download is now a notarized disk image

1.0.0

UsagePool 1.0 is out! Menu bar widgets for Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Muse Code and Antigravity, each showing your usage against the time left before it resets, with a hover card for every limit.

Free with one provider and one widget. Single Provider and Full are one-time purchases.
